In 2007, the Jewish Communal Fund awarded a $1,000,000 grant to support the exceptional work of Ramapo for Children.

Founded in 1922, Ramapo for Children is a nationally recognized, not-for-profit organization serving children with a wide range of emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities. The grant funded a major renovation of the indoor gym and was named the JCF Recreation Center. The gym allows Ramapo to provide programs during inclement weather and in the colder months. The recreation center includes an indoor challenge and confidence course and a large meeting space.
