What JCF Fees Support

Along with covering operational and administrative expenses, JCF reinvests fees in the Jewish community, creating a double bottom line for our fundholders.  Our contributions to Jewish communal causes and our impact as a community on charities in all sectors really add up:

$200mil

Average fundholder grantmaking to Jewish communities at home and abroad

$2mil

Annual gift from JCF to UJA-Federation of New York

$1mil

Yearly grants from JCF Special Gifts Fund to local community causes

JCF Fees are charged monthly, based on the daily average balance. Funds with balances under $5 million are charged an annual fee of 0.75% (75 basis points) or $150*, whichever is greater. Children’s Funds and Bar and Bat Mitzvah Funds have a reduced annual fee of $36. For more details, visit our Fees & Expenses page.

Investment Management Expenses

Investment management expenses are deducted directly from the total return of each investment alternative in your fund. To view our current investment program and corresponding management expenses, please see our Performance Comparisons of Investments chart.

Other Fees

Fees such as brokerage commissions or legal fees incurred in connection with the sale of contributed property may be charged to your fund. In addition, donors may request philanthropic and/or investment advisory services from a list of consultants that the Jewish Communal Fund provides. The fees for these services may be charged to the donor’s fund.  Fees and expenses may change at any time.
