Our deepest thanks to the trustees of the Jewish Communal Fund for the (second) payment of $200,000 on the Fund’s $600,000 pledge to UJA-Federation of New York for the Campership Initiative.

This summer, more than 700 campers will be receiving scholarships to attend Jewish summer camp for the first time . . . The Campership program has taken on even greater significance in light of the economic downturn. Families who never before had to worry about providing enriching summertime opportunities for their children are struggling to afford the cost of camp. We are grateful that the Jewish Communal Fund’s generosity has enabled us to alleviate this concern by helping parents access a transformative Jewish summer experience for their children.
On behalf of the hundreds of children who benefit from the Fund’s grant, we thank the trustees for their thoughtful philanthropy.

Sincerely,
Alisa Rubin Kurshan, Senior VP – UJA-Federation of New York
Denise Gordon, Major Gift Officer — UJA-Federation of New York
