The great fear of parents of a physically, emotionally or developmentally disabled adult child is that after they die, there will be no one to help their child manage his or her affairs. The Jewish Communal Fund is proud to be one of the Jewish organizations that has built a safety net for these vulnerable families, making a grant of $500,000 to establish an endowment for the Community Trust for Disabled Adults at F·E·G·S (Federation Employment and Guidance Service, Inc.).

F·E·G·S and the UJA-Federation of New York established the Community Trust for Disabled Adults, through which parents or siblings can provide for the future needs of disabled loved ones by opening Trust Accounts on their behalf, with the knowledge that the money would be safe, well managed, and used in the beneficiary’s best interests. With the establishment of a Trust, the family would secure the services of a skilled social worker who would serve as the beneficiary’s lifelong advocate, protector, and guide. The Jewish Communal Fund is proud to have helped create a solid financial foundation for the Community Trust.
