Job Summary

The Development and Donor Relations team plays an integral role in the recruitment of new fundholders and stewardship of nearly 6,500 fundholders. The team focuses on providing JCF’s community of fundholders with excellent customer service, ensuring that fundholders experience high satisfaction and easy grantmaking. In the coming years, the team has set ambitious goals to grow the number of funds and JCF’s assets under management, thereby increasing JCF’s charitable impact.

The Development and Donor Relations Team seeks a detail-oriented and motivated Development Assistant who will provide excellent administrative support to the team and exceptional client support to JCF fundholders.

This position will report to the Vice President, Philanthropic Services.

Major Responsibilities

Reporting to Senior Director of Development and Donor Relations, the responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Navigate, maintain, and update information in JCF’s donor management system, which serves a critical role in JCF’s day-to-day operations
  • Generate reports and lists for stakeholder communications
  • Process new fundholder applications, open new funds, and assist with other routine items
  • Draft and send communications to members of JCF’s philanthropic community
  • Respond to inquiries over the phone and assist fundholders in utilizing JCF’s donor portal
  • Assist with preparation and follow-up for events, conferences and meetings
  • Implement a stewardship strategy for the JCF’s Children’s Giving and NextGen programs
  • Assist in the development and updating of fundholder resources
  • Other administrative duties as necessary

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree, preferred
  • 1-3 years of office experience, particularly in an administrative setting
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience working in a database strongly preferred. Training will be provided
  • Excellent relationship building, interpersonal skills, and customer-service orientation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary & Benefits

The position is open for immediate hire. Annual salary range: $60,000, plus a robust benefits package.

Hours

9:00-5:00 Monday-Thursday, 9:00-4:00 Friday. Initially, this will be 5 days a week in the office, and then upon successful completion of training and supervisor’s approval, it will switch to 4 days in the office and 1 day of remote work.
