On October 10, I went to the first of many rallies I would attend in support of Israel. Small Israeli flags were distributed which the rally goers proudly waved in solidarity. When the rally finished, I had an active conversation with myself—do I leave the flag out or tuck it into my bag? During the past few weeks too many Jews have had this internal debate over the outward display of our Judaism. Fault lines have opened exposing antisemitism in our communities and on campuses. As I write this message, conversations about strengthening security measures in Jewish spaces are taking place across the nation.

To learn more about the Jewish communal response to these issues, JCF is hosting a webinar on November 29 at noon to discuss The Philanthropic Response to the Crisis in Israel and the Increase in Anti-Semitism at Home. The speakers will include Deborah Joselow, Chief Planning Officer at UJA-Federation of New York, Adam Lehman, President and CEO of Hillel International and Emily Ball, Senior Philanthropic Advisor at Goodnation. If you have not registered for the webinar, please sign up now.

Thank you for your continued support for Israel and hundreds of other philanthropic causes. If you are wondering, I did keep my Israeli flag out in full view on the subway ride home that night in October.

Am Yisrael Chai & Shabbat Shalom,
