The news from Israel does not get any better: our hostages are still being held and my heart is very heavy. Yet, JCF and the entire American Jewish community are standing with Israel and sending financial support for the list of growing needs.

JCF Fundholders have responded by recommending over 3500 grants totaling approximately $35M to organizations supporting Israel. Frequently selected charities include UJA-Federation of New York (Israel Emergency Fund), American Friends of Magen David Adom, Friends of United Hatzalah, Friends of Israel Defense Forces, and Zaka. There are many charities responding to Israel’s needs, and you will find a broader list of organizations that our Fundholders are supporting in the announcements section on our donor portal.

We are working to ensure that your generous grants arrive quickly and securely. JCF recently enhanced our ability to send grants as electronic payments. Increasingly, many grants to established organizations, including those organizations supporting Israel, have been sent electronically. A grant entered in JCF’s portal on a Monday night may be in the hands of the charity by Wednesday.

As you continue to open your hearts and respond, people are replenishing their funds. To make sending checks more secure, JCF is now using Lockbox to prevent theft of, and tampering with, checks. Please send checks to this address below, rather than to the JCF office.
